Destin Holiday Beach Resort

The location is fine but this is an older hotel that needs a lot of updating. The aluminum door on the back porch needs painted or replaced and the corners of the bathroom floor were pretty dirty. I couldn't use the iron due to it being rusted and the coffee pot was an older unit that needed cleaned better. But here's the good part, the staff is great and very accommodating. We had a situation where the desk was unable to rectify but the Asst. General Manager Robin really stepped up to the plate and resolved it for us. We booked this through RCI which only has a small inventory of rooms to choose from so make sure you confirm your room details before completing your reservation.

We came from Oklahoma to enjoy the beautiful beach and spend quality time on our honeymoon. However the stay has been horrible. The staff is not friendly and not helpful at all. The room looked roomy & luxurious but it's far from that. The furniture is cramped together and extremely outdated. Very small TV mount on the wall. The water doesn't work & we can't even take a shower or bath nor do dishes. There's mice droppings under cabinet. I called the front desk & she said "yeah there working on it" I've been here 3days today.. smh. Horrible maintenance outside the facility as well. The only thing good was the Beach. I def would never recommend this place to anyone.

We enjoyed our week family stay in a 3 bedroom. It was clean and well equipped with what we needed to cook, wash clothes and relax. We needed the knob fixed on the jacuzzi tub in our room and maintenance came quickly to take care of it and got us together. Being close to the beach was great! The pool and hot tub was well maintained. We played pickle ball too. Had some good uno games lol. My daughter got to use workout room to stay on pace with her track workouts while there. Wonderful Christmas vacation. First time utilizing our Sapphire membership and this gave a good first impression. Thank you!

It troubles me to have to leave a poor review for a place I've been visiting for 25 years. In the beginning (1999) the rooms and resort were top notch. Clean, well-maintained, comfortable, nicely furnished. However, now the rooms are run down and dirty, and have been getting steadily worse the past 6-7 years. Every year I leave a private review with the resort about maintenance issues and cleanliness and get no response and no indication they care to improve. I have even directly sent a letter to the resort manager with no reply. The past 3-4 years we can't even settle into our room without deep cleaning it first. The floors are always filthy and disgusting, and our bare feet and the towels we use to wash floors turned black. All the dishes had to be washed. The furniture, probably 15-20 years old, is grimy and stained. The clincher this year were the mice infestation and the portable AC units shoved into our unit in a shoddy manner. Hoses poked through windows and doors, falling out because the duct tape wouldn't hold. When we arrived another guest approached us with pictures of her room, full of mouse droppings in the mattress pads. The talk on the beach was the number of rooms dealing with mice. Trapping several each day. Then 2 rooms from our group had mice in their food and had to call for traps. We were embarrassed we had brought guests with us who will likely never want to return. We heard that the Phase 2 units had bed bugs. Basic cleanliness and maintenance would go a long way. But it is hard to enjoy yourself when the room accommodations are grossly filthy and broken down. We have loved this place so much and just want it to be more like it used to! We are too embarrassed to bring guests again.

We have been coming here for 40 years and some of my best memories have been made here. The location cannot be beat. The beach is gorgeous and because it's a smaller complex you aren't stepping all over other guests. You have room to spread out and enjoy the beach. My kids love the activities they have throughout the week like the ping pong tournament and the ice cream social. It allowed my kids to make friends with the other children at the resort. And last but definitely not least the employees are top notch. Neville is the friendliest, most helpful soul! Everyday when he saw all the kids, he would give them a big smile and a fist bump and tell them to enjoy their day. Looking forward to the next 40 years of vacationing here.
